Email Marketing - Content Part BThose Looooooong Emails! If I have to use the scroll down bar on the text pane in my email, I usually don’t and just hit delete! If someone cannot be short and sweet, then I don’t have time or the inclination to wade through long and verbose sales pitches telling me what I should or shouldn’t do and why I need this or that. So, don’t clog up your emails with overloaded information. When you present material in the BODY of the email make it short and sweet. You want to lead the reader somewhere else other than the email. Think about it - do you ever read all of the twaddle you receive in an email from someone other than your friends or trusted individuals? I know I don’t. Just write something catchy or enticing which shows your reader where to click to get e.g. the e-course they signed up for. In subsequent emails from you they will get used to your style and not automatically hit delete. The link that you provide should send them to a page containing whatever it is they signed up for. Selling to Your Audience The purpose of your email campaigns should be purely to get people to click to your web site. Two of the most successful ways to do this are: 1. Without specifically mentioning your product or service, write an article that describes a problem that the product or service solves. Give an idea of the things to be considered when looking for a solution. That link should take your subscribers to a product sales page and they will be already thinking about the problem and what to look for in a solution. Lastly, but not least - never buy an email list. You want subscribers who made the choice to be on your list. Getting them from another source means they are there involuntarily, and, most likely, will unsubscribe quickly and thus you waste your money - and hurt your credibility. Email marketing isn’t about hitting a load strangers with hard selling and information they don’t need or didn’t request. “Treat the people on your lists with respect, and they will reciprocate. A trusting relationship goes a long way, even with email marketing.” Would you like to learn more or keep updated for tips on Internet Marketing? |
