Email marketing is a marketing strategy that has one purpose which is promoting your product, service or website to a group of targeted leads.

So what are the steps to starting and running a successful email marketing campaign?

The first thing that you need to do is figure out what product or service you want to promote and sell. If you can’t decide on a product or service then take the time to brainstorm and think about a niche that interests you the most.

For example, if you have a passion for sports you should look for a product or service that relates to sports that you could sell and make a profit with.

You can literally sell whatever you want online, so just make sure that your product is profitable and there’s a high demand for it.

After picking your product, the next thing that you need to do is start building your list and in order to do that you are going to need an autoresponder.

For people to join your list you need to setup an opt-in form so people can subscribe to your list. For maximum exposure place your opt-In for at the top and at the bottom of your website and/or capture page.

Now, you have your product, autoresponder and your website, what else do you need?

You need TRAFFIC!

Because without customers, how are you going to make sales?

There are tons of ways to generate traffic so this part is really up to you. You need to figure out what works for you and what doesn’t.

Based on personal experiences, article marketing is a traffic building method that has worked for me and to this day I am still doing it.

What I do is write and submit some articles every day to an article directory. The best thing about article marketing is that it’s FREE and the only thing you need to invest is your time.

When done the right way, article marketing can get you tons of traffic so I recommend that you look into it.
