A Few Tips to Help With Your Email Marketing

Many people are now using the internet to market their business. This has allowed them to boost revenues in a big way as the have a global client base. A popular and effective form of internet marketing is in the form of email newsletter templates. This has enabled businessmen to send subtle but effective marketing mails. This technique is inexpensive and easy to do. But it is important that you write and design the perfect email newsletter template as a majority of your revenue could depend on this. Right from the format to the design as well as the subject line (something I personally feel is very important). In this article I am going to discuss a few ways to write email marketing subject lines.

The inbox of most of your readers and client is usually always a busy place. They receive tons and tons of emails which are just screaming to be opened. You want to make sure that your message doesn’t go straight to the trash. This is why your subject line has to be one that stands out. It has to capture the attention of the reader and make sure that the message demands to be opened. No matter how well you have designed your email newsletter template if your subject line is boring and uninspiring its going straight to the bin.

This is why the subject line is very important. Remember to keep these tips in mind.

1. Remember to add personalization - In my experience I have learnt from many marketers that recipients like personalization. Adding the recipient’s first name or surname often boots reading and opening rates. You should also try to implement the data you have to hand in the subject line. Try and send the message across in a shorter form, something that would get the readers attention.

2. Avoid Spammy Words - This is definitely a given both in the subject line and your email copy. Remember not to include multiple exclamation marks. Even multiple dollar signs are a big NO. You could find a lot of lists of Spammy words online, the best person to ask would be your email sender. They would have the most accurate insight.

3. Distract and always focus on the benefits - The key ingredient in any form of marketing is focusing on the benefits. People need to know why they should open your message. Outline your offer and let them know the benefits. But remember that your subject line always relates to the content that you are sending out. You need to always make sure of this. This is because you don’t want readers to feel tricked into reading your email newsletter template. They will either put your email into their spam mail or will never reply back.

4. You should use pyramid style of writing - Most email clients off subject lines anywhere between 40 to 60 characters. Readers also scan subject lines from left to right. This is why remember to put your key offerings in the beginning of your sentence.

So remember the next time you’re starting a email newsletter template campaign keep the subject line in mind. Keep these 4 points that I have mentioned in mind and your messages would be getting a lot more reads.
