How to Use Video Email For Your Business

If you’re a business owner that has been reading up on video email and it’s awesome marketing capabilities, you need to know that there are some best practices to keep in mind so your video email doesn’t get labeled as “spam”.

First off, you want to make sure that your message is received by the intended recipients and the way to increase this possibility is to avoid using words that are considered spam. You can do a Google search to find these words, but it is imperative that you begin with this in mind as your email can end up in junk email folders due to banned or forbidden words in the text of your email and in the subject line.

Now what will you talk about in the video itself? If you are camera-shy, you can commentate from behind the camera and describe your subject. For example, a friend of mine is the Sales Manager at a Honda dealership in the San Francisco/Bay Area. His top producer will make a video walking around the vehicle that a client has called about. He then sends the video email to the client so they have more than just still pictures to determine whether this is the car for them. That’s excellent use of video email marketing, and proof that it can be used to make you more sales. Did I mention that he is the top salesman at the dealership?

Other industries that are seeing an increase in the use of video email is the Real Estate and Mortgage Industries. Why? They both rely heavily on referrals to increase their business. Real Estate is especially adapting to this since it can alleviate having to drive borrowers around from house to house all weekend long. Imagine doing a video email for your listings one time and sending it to multiple clients, and really zeroing in on homes that they’ve shown a high degree of interest in.

What’s important though, is to realize that as a business, you need to stay in your clients’ memory in order to get those valuable referrals. A top notch video email marketing system will have multiple templates for every holiday and every occasion - which are what I call perfect excuses to stay in front of your clients: birthdays, graduations, Easter, Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, Independence Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, you get the drift, right?

These are all great reasons to just say “Hi” to your clients and keep your business fresh in their minds.
